A 17-year-old girl Nigerian girl, Forester Samson, has been reportedly stabbed to death in, the capital  of Russia, by yet-to-be-identified Russian gangsters.

According to a family source, the perpetrators went further to lock her body in a room and set it ablaze. Though, the police took her to the hospital, it was rather futile.

The source revealed that Forester was sponsored abroad by one Mercy who is suspected to be trafficking  Nigerian girls  on the promise that she would assist them  with  decent jobs in Russia. The teenager  without hesitation, but with the approval of her mother jumped at the offer with high hopes.

According to the deceased’s elder sister, Sonia Samson, they got a call from  Mercy, on Tuesday March 4,  2014 that Forester had died in an inferno. She added that the family was later told that Forester was stabbed before being set ablaze.

Sonia said,  “Her madam is the one that called us on Tuesday and told us she was locked in a room and set ablaze by some unknown Russians. She told us that she was rushed to the hospital, that they were treating her.

“Later that day, she also told us that she was initially stabbed before she was burnt. Not too long after, she told us that she was dead. The madam said she was not the only victim in the attack. She said there were five other Nigerians, that another one died four or  five days after the attack.

“My sister died mysteriously, just as another sister of mine was also killed by  armed robbers. Sincerely, I am confused because I don’t know why all this is happening to us. Particularly for me, it is so painful that I don’t really know what to say or do. This is a difficult time for the family and I believe we need to be more prayerful more than ever before.”

The late Forester, who would have been celebrating  her 18th  birthday on March 30  hails from Igbekhue in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State. She completed her secondary education  in 2013.

Forester’s father, Friday Osazuwa  Samson was killed four years ago in Benin by suspected armed robbers. He was shot in broad daylight in front of his shop at Upper Sakponba. Until Friday’s death, he was a successful businessman, a distributor  with Sona and Bendel breweries.

Siblings and other relatives of the late Forester’s father are worried and pained by circumstances surrounding how Forester was lured into traveling to Russia, which they described as shady. Recognizing the fact that she did not travel to Russia for further education, even as they were not also informed of such plans, they are calling on concerned authorities to wade into the matter.

They are accusing Mercy of human trafficking and  calling on National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) to investigate the activities of this said Mercy. They also want the Nigerian Embassy in Russia to as a matter of urgency unravel the mystery surrounding the death of their daughter.

Meanwhile, Forester’s uncle, Mr Saturday Samson Osazuwa accused Forester’s mother of conniving with the said madam (Mercy) to deceive and persuade the teenager to travel abroad. He queried why Forester’s mother, Elizabeth, decided to hide his niece’s whereabouts from him. Saturday, who now acts as a father figure to the children since their father’s death, said the mother refused to disclose where Forester was, even as he insisted on seeing her.

Said he: “The mother was aware that Forester had traveled abroad. Not just that,  I believe she was part of the arrangement that her 17-year-old daughter  should  travel abroad. It is really unfortunate and wicked of her to have taken that decision.

“If my brother, her husband was alive, he would never allow such a thing for any of  his children. What was Forester looking for in Russia? Was it to go there and school? Certainly not. Now, she has caused the entire family pain and sorrow. The girl was beautiful and intelligent. I still cannot understand what she was sent to Russia to do at her tender age.

His words: “What exactly will Forester be doing  abroad when she was supposed to be studying at the University of Benin or any other higher institution of learning in Nigeria? What she did is unacceptable to every member of our family.”

The princely amount of N46 million in the dormant bank account of the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, was simply irresistible for the young female banker. So the suspect, Amina Magaji, was prepared to risk everything to reactivate the account and convert part of the balance there in to her use. The account was said to have been opened  in 1967 but went dormant later.

The suspect allegedly applied for a cheque book, got it and began to operate the account. By the time the bubble burst, she had, according to a source, withdrawn N17million from the account. Amina, alongside 12 other staffers of the old generation bank, is answering questions from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on the alleged fraud.
The suspect is allegedly married to a senior staff of  a broadcast organisation.

Amina, believed to be in her late 30s, allegedly began systematic withdrawal from the monarch’s account since 2011 before she ran out of luck when her boss discovered discrepancies in the Emir’s signature.
An EFCC source disclosed that the suspected fraudster requested for a cheque book purportedly on the order of Bayero which the bank obliged her, but, unknown to other bank officials, the cheque book remained in her custody. She consequently used the cheque to make withdrawals from the monarch’s account.
Bank sources revealed that Amina within the last four years withdrew N17 million from the Emir’s account  before the scam blew open.
The EFCC source said the matter was reported to the anti graft agency for appropriate action, stressing that “consequent upon that, we invited and quizzed 12 staffers closely related to the account”.

I stole my boss’ SUV to ‘do Lagos Big Boy’ -Employee confesses[photo]

0

SUV-SUSPECT

Adeleke Ayodele who was a driver stole his boss’s Honda SUV on his first day of work. The father of two said he wanted to “do big boy” in Lagos.
His account below

“I work under Mr. Elkanah as a driver. On my first day at work, I drove my boss and his friends to Okitipupa in Ondo State for a burial ceremony.   While we were there, I stole the car and came back to Lagos instead of waiting for them. When I came back to Lagos, I started using the car as my personal vehicle. I was driving it around town and going around my normal business.  And I used the car for two months, from December till February when they eventually arrested me.  While this was happening, I was hiding because the owner of the car knows the house where I live.

Although, I am aware that one day they will catch me, but I kept hiding from them. Each time they came to the house, I would hide if I am inside. And if I am not, they will meet my wife and give her the message they have for me.

They were unable to arrest me all this time because my wife was always feeding me with information each time they were around.   Most times, I will leave the house very early in the morning and returned back late in the night to evade arrest.  I was also using the vehicle for transportation and to do ‘big boy’.

“When I stole the car, it had no plate number.  I later saw the number under the vehicle, so I attached it on the car, without registering the vehicle.   I also bought a Navy tag, which I placed in front of the vehicle so that police and road safety officials will not stop me on the way.  At a point after they were unable to apprehend me, My boss called me on phone and asked me what I wanted to do with the car.  He asked me if I wanted to buy the car  since I don’t want to return the vehicle. I told him yes but he didn’t give me chance to pay because that was the week they arrested me.”

“Although I feel bad now, I don’t know what led me into stealing the vehicle. All my life I have never been in police custody before, so I can’t say this is the particular thing that actually led me to commit the crime. It was after I committed the crime that the consequences of what I had done dawned on me. All I know is that  I stole the vehicle because I wanted to be using it and I feel bad now that I have been arrested.
“I bought the tag from Navy barracks along Ijora area  where they sell things. I placed the Navy tag at the front of the car’s windscreen to prevent law enforcement agents like LASTMA, VIO, and police from stopping me on the way while driving. I entered into the barracks where they are selling things; I bought it N500.

On that day, I had gone around my normal business. I was on my way to Obalende, from Mile 12 when I was arrested by detectives along third mainland bridge. On that day, I was carrying 300 tubers of yams owned by a customer who had paid me N3000.00.
I usually do this whenever I don’t have money to buy fuel for the car. I would carry load for people and also carry passengers going towards my direction.  The only advice I have for people stealing cars is to repent and change their ways.”
