The much awaited Yoruba/English comedy romance thriller Awokoku is out today Monday 24th August. “Kindly buy original copies from movie vendors in all states in Nigeria”, Olori Wendy, a blogger, media and entertainment personnel who is the producer of the movie pleads to fans.
The movie which was shot in South Africa and Nigeria is marketed by Banke Film Production. South Africans and Nigerian South African based entertainers like Fadekemi Momoh, Bolo J, Kimz, Shegzy, Big Freddo and others featured as directed in South Africa by Femi Omoniyi. However, the Lagos scenery was directed by Shonde Afolabi and features Nollywood stars like Femi Adebayo, Jaiye Kuti, Kemi Afolabi, Princess Onanuga and Olori Wendy as the lead actress.
“Yoruba movies celebrate our culture and mostly showcase voodoo or traditional religion sceneries, however, Awokoku is quite entertaining and has lessons for young ladies awaiting their life partners, without the usage of voodoo, or juju as popularly called in Nigeria. It is a movie that will inspire various age groups”, Olori Wendy shares.
She has featured in lots of Nollywood and South African movies and this is her first Yoruba movie production. The movie can be viewed on youtube for people living outside Nigeria, while those living in Nigeria can buy the dvds copies from accredited movie vendors all over the nation.
